Dr. Bryan D. Brewer is a Board-Certified General and Bariatric Surgeon who has been serving the DFW area since 2011. Known for his skill in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Brewer specializes in both surgical and non-surgical weight loss solutions, including gastric sleeve, revision bariatric surgery, gastric balloon, and comprehensive medical weight loss.
As a weight loss surgery patient himself, he is deeply committed to helping others reclaim their health by replacing habits that contribute to weight gain with long-term strategies for wellness and weight maintenance.

Dr. Brewer’s academic background includes:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Cell and Molecular Biology – Tulane University, New Orleans
- Medical Degree – University of Texas Medical School at Houston
- General Surgery Residency – Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Brewer participates with the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Obesity Medicine Association, and The Obesity Society.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Brewer believes that weight loss is not one-size-fits-all. His approach is centered on helping each patient find their ideal path—whether it’s through medical weight loss, minimally invasive surgery, or a combination of both.
He created The Middle Diet as part of his medical weight loss program to offer a realistic and sustainable approach to long-term success. He also emphasizes the importance of addressing the emotional and behavioral aspects of weight gain while using modern tools like GLP-1 medications, coaching, and counseling.

Dr. Brewer grew up in Denton, Texas, but still holds a special place in his heart for New Orleans thanks to his Tulane roots. He currently lives in Dallas, where he enjoys spending time on the Katy Trail, staying active at the gym, and supporting local sports teams. You might also find him spending time with friends and family throughout the metroplex. Dr. Brewer has participated in medical missions to India, China, and Tibet, and is an avid world traveler.
